Re: Akebono's surgery

Don't know about the trainer, but Akebono's coming back to Japan in a
couple of days. I saw him on TV briefly on my way out the door this
morning. He was on crutches, but standing up nevertheless. He said
he feels ok, and is anxious to get back to keiko soon. The paper
says he'll be working out in the pool for a while first, though, and
that the doctors want him to shed 6-8 kg before the Nagoya Basho,
which is now only one month away.
In other news, Wakanohana and his new wife Mieko had a big and expensive
wedding at the Hotel New Otani yesterday. They were both looking bored
as hell (typically :-) ). At a short press conference afterward, one
reporter asked him what he thought about his new wife, and Waka just
said, "She's very pretty." In response to the next question, "Is that
all"?, he replies, "Yes, that's all." Remember, you heard it here
first, folks. Words to live by, from Wakanohana. Oh well...
Mata nee....
