The last tournaments won with 12-3 records were by Hokutoumi in
March of 1987 and Chiyonofuji in january of 1987. Chiyonofuji
also won three consecutive tournaments in 1982 with 12-3 records.
Having 3 yokozuna must have made it very difficult. The last
15-0 was by Chiyonofuji in 1989. There was an 11-4 winner in 1972
but it is rare to see a winner with fewer than 2 losses.

In the event of a playoff the wins/losses do not seem to be
aded to the tournament record, and I am not sure if they get
added onto the lifetime or head-to-head records.
