|> |if you are an Ozeki?
|
|Ozeki, unlike other rikishi, have a cushion of being allowed two
|make-koshi before demotion. Takanohana is now in the
|"kadoban-Ozeki" status, just like Konishiki was last basho and
|two basho's before that. If Takanohana gets a kachi-koshi then he
|will retain his full Ozeki status (like Konishiki did three basho
|ago), but if he gets a second consecutive make-koshi, he will be
|demoted to Sekiwake (like Konishiki in the last basho). I believe
|a 10-win or better basho after the demotion is enough for an
|automatic promotion back to Ozeki.

|
|No.
|
|> |3) Can Musashimaru become ozeki with a double figure record?
|
|Yes.
|
|> |4) Why did Mitoizumi keep his rank of maegirisha 11?
|
|This I am not sure of. Not only him, but also the other rikishi
|who sat out the entire basho kept the same rank. I thought they
|would drop because sitting out the basho is supposed to be the same
|as losing all 15 matches.
|
|> |5) What is the record for consecutive yusho? Modern times that is (six

|> |
|
|I don't know, but if a dude won 64 straight matches, had one loss,
|and then another long string of victories, we aren't close to the
|record. This is the longest streak of yusho's in over 10 years,
|though.
|
|Here's to a Musashimaru yusho!
