|There are no requirements that a rikishi get a yusho before being por-
|moted to Ozeki. The rules bend and sway as the need for Ozekis change
|from basho to basho. There are cases of Sekiwake being promoted immed-
|iately after their first yusho. Likewise there are cases of Sekiwake being
|passed over because there were already enough Ozeki on the banzuke.
|Yokozuna, on the other hand, are required to have either 2 consecutive
|yusho or at least "the equivalent" (runner ups??) t be promoted.
