|The yen closed Thursday at 107.00 = $1.

|Takanonami and Musashimaru are the last to stay close to Akebono, as
|Wakanohana loses a tough battle to Kotonowaka.  As they have both gone
|against the Yokozuna, they will have to win and wait to see if someone
|else can beat Akebono.  Musashimaru missed with his initial lunge at
|Wakashoyo, but then won from the mawashi, unusual for him.  He seems a
|lot more confident than before.

|Friday should see the final humiliation of Konishiki as he goes up against
|Akebono.  Konishiki has looked quite lame, and I doubt he'll do much
|with the Yokozuna.  That would send him down to sekiwake next basho as he
|will be makekoshi.  To return to ozeki, he will need 10 wins in January.
