|
|Maekashira 4, so he's got a ways to fall before he's booted out of
|Makuuchi. How far he's going to fall depends on whether he can get it
|turned on for the second half of the basho (doesn't look like it though).
|
|Note that Oginohana won both Day 9 and Day 10, after 8 straight losses.
|Both days he looked like a man on a mission, I'm looking forward to his
|match today.

|
|Yeah, things ain't looking good for the big guy holding onto his Ozeki
|status. Unfortunately his matches haven't even been particularly
|interesting. The first couple of days he looked really good, charging into
|tachiai faster than I've seen all year, but now he's back to the same plod
|forward and either shove the opponent out or stumble and fall :-(.
|
|Akebono's Day 10 match against Kushimaumi almost looked like it was going
|to be a repeat of the Musashimaru match: Kushimaumi stepped to the right as
|Akebono stumbled past. But Akebono wasn't as out of control as he had been
|with Musashimaru, and managed to get his footing and the win.
