|I haven't been reading on this lately, but apparently Mitoizumi and
|Kotofuji both pulled out of the tournament early.  I knew Mito was hurting,
|but don't know about Kotofuji:  Anyone?  I guess since they cancelled early
|the association didn't fill the gaps with Juryo, so we have 19 bouts this
|time around.

|Takanohana's liver condition has caused him to suffer from nausea and
|diarrhea lately, and he is not likely to complete the basho.  Akebono
|was reportedly awesome in the pre-basho matches, even stronger than in Tokyo
|last September.  Wakanohana may be his only competition.
