Just for the record, I favor a newsgroup (name doesn't matter to me). However,
it would be nice if people who don't have access to news yet do have email could
receive and post through a mail gateway. Auto-forwarders and mail aliases that
post aren't that difficult to setup ... for someone with a little time and
knowledge. I'm lacking the former - sorry.
One advantage of the mailing list (the type we're currently using) is that you
know at least the names of everyone participating. I like that since it isn't
as anonymous as a newsgroup.
