If I knew no one was going to post, I would have sent this off at 6pm
last night. Gomen, ne.

In brief, bad boy Akebono kicked some ass. He was defeated by Takanohana
in the last scheduled match, which means it was a hair-raising 3-way between
****nohana and Akebono, each at 13-2.

I think the reason Akebono lost his final scheduled match against Taka
is that he was trying some new techniques - like backing up to the edge
of the ring then trying to jump out of the way of your charging opponent.
In 92, all Akebono did was a two arm assault to the throat, a generally
devestating attack. In 93, I am glad he has branched out of his rut,
no matter how successful it was. (When the others can predict you, then
you start to become vulnerable.) He has been experimenting all year,
and while his bouts don't have the assured visual power of 92, he's
still winning. Go Chad!

BTW, after defeating Akebono in the last scheduled match, Taka made the
weirdest face - jutted his chin way way out, and raised his lips in a
grimace/smile. Very weird.

They drew lots, and it looked grim - Akebono had to defeat each of the
***hana brothers once more. In the course of perhaps 10 minutes, three
matches... And I was hoping to see the ****nohanas fight it out for once.

He flipped Wakanohana out of the ring in about 3 seconds. Wakanohana
looked utterly confused during those three seconds... He looked like a
baby, all curled up on the floor. He looked like he was going to cry.
BTW, notice how you never see Rick Moranis and Wakanohana in the same
place at the same time?

The Taka rematch 2 minutes later took about 10 seconds. Akebono fell
on Taka, both ended up half way off the dohyo, I recall.
