Akebono goes down by a brillant technique by Akinoshima. The two rikishi
slammed and grabbed each others belts. Akinoshima positioned his head
and back below Akebono's chest and stomach. Akebono applied his weight
on top of Akinoshima which raised Akebono's center of gravity up high
to his chest. Akinoshima stepped back quickly and slid his head and body
to the right out from underneath Akebono. Akebono thus had noone there to
lean on and subsequently fell to the ground. AKINOSHIMA, THE GIANT KILLER.
Side note. Akinoshima has a purple scar over his right shoulder socket
denoting some kind of surgury. I wonder if it had it done in the USA?
How about Daizen. What a comeback! A very dismal start has turned into
a great comeback. I predict he will go 9-5 this Basho.
Mainoumi lost quickly tonight. Toyonoumi was able to get an immediate
hold on the little guy and drive him out of the ring. I have gotten 2 or 3 E-Mai
l messages stating that Mainoumi had a silicon implant placed in his
head so he could make the height requirements to get into Sumo. If this is
true then he should be removed so as to protect him from injury or
humiliation. However, he is a real fighter! :-)))))
Kotonishiki got into a real prolonged slap fight with Terao. Thank good-
ness they had open hands or one of them would of gotten knocked out. They
were hitting each other that hard! Terao got the worst of it and he was
thrown out of the ring.
Wakanohana is an artist! He beat his man with the grace and style of
an heavy Fred Astair. He charged. Hooked the guy's arm and threw him.
Konishiki blew it by leaning forward. Takanohana spun him around and then forced
him out of the ring. They were very polite to each other even
though Konishiki had hurt his brother in a previous Basho.
A special "Tony-no-bono Award" is being awarded to Wakanohana for the
biggest Quadraceps of the Basho. How do you do it Waka? They look like
L.A. city fire hydrants.
Goodnight
Tony
