I guess I always tend to defend the underdog - for
long I did that for Asashoryu but he is no longer in
the position of underdog, though still not an
overwhelming favorite among casual fans.

The difference in our perspective is that I believe
Takamisakari is not playing a role at all but just
being himself. He just can't help it - he is geniunely
the rikishi he portrays to be, he is not fake - he
actually feels he does not want to have all the Kensho
money in his bout as every bout he appears in, the
other rikishi comes out so determined to beat him
either by slapping his face around or other rough
tactics that he is afraid he may get injured.

Whether it is an act by the yokozuna or not, things
like this could legitimize the others' behavior. My
point is that there are so many other ways to
stimulate Jyunyo ticket sales without victimizing (or
pretending to victimize) certain rikishi. There is no
need.

My understanding is that this was not an exhibition
session like when they do comedy skits during charity
sumo. When you go to see an Asageiko, they will
insist how serious training sessions are and you need
to behave while you are there. If this was a training
session at all, then make it so or how they can turn
around and say something like "OK some sessions are
for fun only and just entertainment so you can come
back for more and get more interested in sumo".

It can be fun watching someone tripping and falling
down but it's not really fun to the person. Bullying
is a serious social problem affecting schools and work
places and anything that could be taken or viewed as
such by profesional athletes should be avoided and
discouraged.
