I neglected to post this here on ML but I'd also like
to add that the school replacing Meikotku team and to
represent Kochi Prefecture is privately run Kochi High
School, the alma mater of Tosanoumi. They lost to the
Meitoku in the Prefecture Final in extra innings a
couple of weeks agao. 

Meitoku and Kochi teams are generally considered to be
two powerhouse baseball teams in Kochi Prefecture but
as a result of this incident, the Meitoku team may be
penalized in some way by the national high school
baseball association and their activity and
participation in tournaments to be suspended (whether
it will be for baseball only or affect other sports
such as sumo is not certain. Their sumo club just lost
to the Saitama Sakae High in the national high school
championships). Their baseball coach has admitted the
coverup and paying off to the victims and now resigned
from his post.
