This is a new S.U.M.O. league that is being started in the USA. There was a write up in the NY Post this week. I went through it briefly, apparently there will be teams that fight against each other. They are making this into a cross between the WWF and classical sumo. Perhaps this will develop into a more traditional sumo league. It will be interesting to see how successful it becomes, and whether they will be able to dispose of the antics and concentrate on the inherent beauty of the sport.
