Yea, I thought Takanohana looked stringy but muscular in those pictures. Losing his sumo weight is a good thing, particularly since we all know that the rikishi who don't lose the weight have a lot of diabetes risk. If you look at those pictures when he is a kid, it is the 2005 version of Takanohana that he looked like he would turn into, not the giant yokozuna.

A lot of impromptu sumo photos tend to look pretty awful, lots of pale skin and bad lighting isn't a great combo.

Mind you, I defer judgement on how healthy he looks to those on the list who've seen him in person.
