I'm very curious about the longest stint in makuuchi division before making it to ozeki (and what career these people had as ozeki) ?

Again, since the introduction of the 6 basho a year in 1958:

1. Masuiyama-II - 60 Makuuchi basho before Ozeki promotion
7 basho at Ozeki - 0 yusho
Ozeki record: 44-44-17 (.500)

2. Daikirin - 43 Makuuchi basho (mostly under the Shikona Kirinji)
25 basho at Ozeki - 0 yusho
Ozeki record: 231-145-54 (.614)

3. Kaio - 42 Makuuchi basho
29 basho at Ozeki (and counting) - 5 yusho
Ozeki record: 256-111-69 (.698)

4. Musoyama - 40 Makuuchi basho
27 basho at Ozeki - 1 yusho
Ozeki record: 156-111-48 (.584)

5. Takanosato - 39 Makuuchi basho
became Yokozuna after 9 basho at Ozeki - won 4 yusho (2 as Ozeki, 2 as Yokozuna)

As you can see the top 4 never made it to Yokozuna, though Kaio could still make it (theoretically at least)...
