He's been on my mind too.  More than not making it to upper maegashira, he
really has yet to  even make it out of lower maegashira.  Of course the
counter-argument is that he's only 18, but still, if his destiny is to truly
be great, he shouldn't be stalled at this level for so long.  That to me is
the crux of the issue - not so much that he hasn't kept up with Kotooshu
(who after all is more than 3 years older), but that he's spent almost a
year basically going nowhere when he should be making at least some
progress.  

Sometimes I think he'll develop into the "next great Wakanosato" (his
stablemate by the way), a strong sanyaku rikishi with a classic style whose
sumo is too slow and too predictable to allow him to reach the upper
echelons.  Maybe it will all still come together, but it's getting harder to
see greatness ahead.
