I agree with you on his shimpan participation, despite
his proclamation how honorable and dignify being the
shimpan - remember his angry response about former
Akinoshima barging into the shimpan room and dared to
talk to him there (because Takanohana barred him from
the heya and refused to acknowledge him anywhere).

I've seen him for three straight days of his shimpan
shifts back in the Hatsu Basho and he never spoke out
first whenever there was a mono-ii and appeared not to
contribute in anyway in the proceeding other than
sitting there. He remained very serious looking while
other shimpans seemed to be smiling or chatting with
each other, generally looking to have fun while doing
their duty, especially Shikihide, Nakamura and former
Wakashimazu.

I understand many sumo fans were pretty much disgusted
with his behavior since his father passed away (most
non-sumo fans always liked more sociable his brother
mucn more).

Takanohana was always known to be a man of few words
so I really wonder about his frequent outbursts now.
Perhaps he feels so isolated from the Hanada Clan now,
he feels he needs to speak up and explain his position
but all he is getting is just more negative reactions.
He looks pretty immature and is just a shell of the
great yokozuna he once was. I am sure if his uncle
Wakanohana I finds him to be quite embarrasing.

BTW does anyone know what happened to Yamahibiki
Toshiyori Share? Does Takanohana own it or Wakanohana?
If I recall the reason Takanohana asked to have it
re-issued was because Wakanohana's lawyer asked for
its whereabouts...and having it re-issued got him
automatically the title to it.
