Takamisakari's promotion to M7E after he went 9-6 at Maegashira 8 West,
just 2 basho ago, was the smallest boost ever achieved by anyone with that
result at that rank. Of the 50 rikishi who've done that before, 13 were
promoted to M4, 13 to M3, 18 to M2, and 1 to M1.
But then, at M7E, Takamisakari had the worst result he's ever had at so low
a level in a full (uninjured) makuuchi-level basho. A couple of years ago,
he could have gained a kachi-koshi at M3, but I don't think so any longer.
IMHO, he's a M7-level rikishi. At M4, I'll bet he's ground meat.
Funny you said that because that's exactly where my 'first draft' of the Aki
banzuke has him. I also agree with you about the probable result, and feel
he and Shoes-On will be running the elevator in shifts from now own.
Cheers,
