Re: [sumo] oshi-dashi'd message

On the contrary, the changes that are being suggested as those Takanohana wants to bring about - whenever that might be - are precisely the sorts of things that Ozumo needs to survive into the future in a public form we all know and love.

I don't know if he is spiritually strong, or barking mad. I suspect the latter, though concede that maybe he could be somewhere on the "kami hito-e" edge between the two.

Or maybe he is simply a stalking horse for other, powerful interests who recognise that, love him or hate him, he is going to be a factor in the whole equation for a long time - certainly much longer than the current bunch of narrow-minded, myopic cretins who allegedly "run" sumo - and for that reason it is better to start the ball rolling through him now, and at least begin the conditioning process that will be necessary to bring it all about some time in the future.

Whichever, I for one am glad to see proposals like those advanced brought into sharper focus and kept there until something positive is achieved. Probably not in my lifetime, but perhaps for the benefit of younger generations of enthusiasts.

I dislike most of the changes he is suposed to want to initiate. But I still
admire the guy for his spiritual strenght. If something new must happen, he
will be involed in it.
Just 2 cents (of 竄ャ) from an old lurker.

I am pretty sure he was the one that called the monoii after the
Asashouryuu-Kotooushuu bout. I remember the picture of him mounting the
dohyo through a hail of zabuton quite vividly, waiting for the others to
 join.
