Some interesting charts to be found at:
http://www.dichne.com/injuries.html while these look at the total for
the year, one can attempt to see patterns. As I had looked at this sort
of stuff back in '98, I searched the mailing list archives quickly and
found 6 Kyujo rikishi for July 1992 (absent is kyujo from Day 1, DNF is
any kyujo after the first day, but as seen below, includes rikishi that
left and returned):
7/92:
Absent: Akebono (O - Ozeki debut - Broken Toe)
DNF: Tomeofuji(K - lower back)
Wakahanada(M1 - four stiches in toe - broken toe)
Kototsubaki(M3 - right knee injury)
Oginohana(M8 - heel injury - missed two days in middle)
Ryogoku(M9 - hip injury)
Sorry for a brief note, but that is about all I can do between work
assignments at the moment.
