There is a rather nice compromise available, I have discovered, in the
form of Gmail.  Google's mail reader automatically organizes messages
into threads, and throws some very nice filtering, sorting and search
tools into the mix as well.  Also 2GB of storage (and counting).

I don't work for Google, am just a very satisfied user.  If anyone
wants to try it for themselves, please feel free to send me a message
