Mike Aldren, from his excellent Wrestling 365
newsletter, dropped this blurb among his Wrestlemania
notes:
"Akebono's appearance at Wrestlemania is receiving a
lot of press attention in Japan. It wasn't a big deal
a few weeks ago because many doubted that the match
against Big Show would ever happen. Some insiders
are now predicting that Akebono might end up with the
WWE on a full-time basis following Mania, but that is
anyone's guess..."
1) Since I'm not in Japan, I can't refute the first
point. If the story is getting more press in Japan, is
he getting lambasted or is it merely disappointment?
2) If he joins WWE full time, the overall attitude
certainly wouldn't get any more favorable. What is his
current status with the Kyokai? Will he be ousted for
life like Pete Rose?
Stay tuned! This story is just getting interesting,
IMHO.
