Actually along with Tochisakae, Takanotsuru is my
favorite rikishi - I tend to like rikishis who went
through so much injuries but still struggled back to
Juryo/Maegashira while so many just give up and leave
(but you can't blame them as I would end up doing the
same).

Takanotsuru is not just a Toki look-alike but when you
see them on TV or either live, they sure do look like
though their sumo style is different.

Oh...the big toe. From a practical point of view,
someone like ShiroiKuma will know for sure. And from
a medical point of view, certain rijicho of certain
forum may know for more but one of the posts I sent on
Musoyama retirement, I believe his high school coach
mentioned that Musoyama gripped the dohyo so strong
that he left the big toe impression on the dohyo.

I believe he said in the retirement press conference,
an injury to his toe affected him most so I think it
is important to have the longer toe.
