Then what's its relevance to this thread?  It either has some bearing,
or it does not.  I mean, the chess comparison, however wayward (frankly)
was comparing title pre-conditions, not coded messages in backberry
yogurt pots and shenanigans in Reykjavik.

That's a statement of an entirely different order.  I'm very impressed
with Kaio's attitude, and I think they represent the general
"classiness" of the guy.  (Also not a bad thing to have in a yokozuna,
but a dangerous thing to start trying to measure...)  He appears to me,
as I would myself, to be saying that the stated guideless should be
applied as stated, not altered _after the fact_.  It's quite a different
thing to say that they are actually objectively sensibly criteria in
themselves.

(As well as having some appearance of propiety and natural justice,
having the current threshold stated in advance also has the merit of
disposing of the 'choking' canard that gets floated around occasionally,
which I think is extremely unjust.)
