RE: [sumo] Statistical question

I think Takayama only included rikishi with hatsu dohyo from 1958
onwards since this was the first year with 6 basho. Taiho's hatsu dohyo
was Aki 1956, but he should be included in this list as he was in Juryo
first Natsu 1959. Then he needed 15 basho until Yokozuna promotion,
equalling Asashoryu. And what's more, back then Juryo and Makuuchi were
way bigger, so Taiho had to cross more ranks. For example, Asashoryu
started Juryo as J7e, Taiho as J20w. So Asashoryu's Juryo career was
done with 9-6 and 11-4. Taiho needed 9-6, 9-6 (getting to J10e), 13-2
and 13-2 to get to Makuuchi, so essentially he needed two basho less
than Asashoryu. The career record from Juryo to Ozeki also is telling (I
also included Kashiwado with Juryo debut in 1957 Kyushu):

Taiho 74.7% 168-57 (15 basho)
Asashoryu 68.0% 153-72 (15)
Futahaguro 68.8% 163-74 (16)
Akebono 64.3% 164-91-15 (18)
Wajima 67.7% 193-92 (19)
Kitanoumi 59.0% 177-123 (20)
Kashiwado 67.2% 242-118 (24)
Takanohana 68.0% 316-149 (31)
