Re: FW: [sumo] Statistical question
Hi list,
Sorry, but your answer was not 100% correct. Asashoryu still got the fastest rise from juryo to yokozuna, but he did it in 15 basho and not in 13 basho.
Here is the top 10, regarding the rise from Juryo to yokozuna, thanks to Takayama's great website ( http://www.fsinet.or.jp/~sumo/rec/06.htm#57 ) :
1. Asashoryu in 15 basho
2. Futagahuro in 16 basho (Yep, this guy was terrific !)
3. Akebono in 18 basho
4. Wajima in 19 basho
5. Kitanoumi in 20 basho
6. Hokutoumi in 26 basho
7. Wakanohana II in 30 basho
8. Takanohana in 31 basho
9. Onokuni in 34 basho
10. Tamanoumi in 39 basho
Sincere salutations,
Thierry aka Chienoshima
