A wake for Jonidan Nakabuchi of Futagoyama Beya was held on October 20 at Hosenji Temple in Nakano-ward, Tokyo with over 300 people including Nishonozeki Ichimon rikishis headed by Takanohana and Futagoyama oyakatas attending.

Nakabuchi collapsed suddenly with a heart stroke during a heya function on October 16 and was taken to a hospital but he could not have been resuscitated. The funeral is to be held on October 21 at the Hosenji Temple.
