Miyabiyama's father passed away on last Sunday night.
While hearing the news of his father's passing,
Miyabiyama particpated in the One Day Tournament held
on the following day (the results posted by Moti) at
the Kokugikan.
"I've already prepared myself for this. The oyakata
told me to go to the hospital but I was able to talk
to him on the Day 14 and the Senshuraku of Aki Basho
when he still was conscious. My family and I were able
to take a trip prior to the Aki Basho as well. And I
was able to win against the yokozuna," said Miyabiyama
after his bout at the tournament.
The funeral is scheduled in Mito City on October 13.
