Soccer has been infected by the "Hooligan" syndrome. While most
people attribute this to the English soccer hooligans the phenomenon is
actually much older than that. It's been prevalent in baseball in the US
for decades, though not to the extreme that the English Hooligans have
taken things. It's a sad comment on the cultural situation of the world
today.
