[sumo] Hakuhou, Rijicho and the Wall

Some coincidence concerning Hakuhou and former Yokozuna Kitanoumi Rijicho. Hakuhou is 19, as was Riji when the last China Koen was held in 1973. They both climbed the wall at the same age, both the youngest participants.. Papers are speculating if the future holds the same prospects for Hakuhou. Rijichou became Yokozuna a year and three months after his climb at the age of 21 and two months, and was the youngest Yokozuna ever then.
On another note, it seems Hakuhou, in spite of his wrong footwear etc., managed to climb 200 steps, each one around 30 centimeters high. And still, he wanted to get to the top.. "I learned in school that the Wall was built to keep out Mongolian attackers. I was deeply moved by this as I climbed it for the first time", he said.
