Ozeki Kaio to skip China tour due to bronchitis

TOKYO - Ozeki Kaio will not take part in the upcoming sumo exhibition tour
to China because of bronchial asthma, sumo sources said Sunday. About 120
wrestlers and officials will make the trip, where exhibition bouts will be
held in Beijing on June 5-6 and in Shanghai on June 9-10.
Kaio, who was told by doctors he would need to rest for two weeks to recover
from the respiratory disorder, turned in the required documents to the Japan
Sumo Association asking to pull out of the tour. (Kyodo News)
