I am not sure if he sent any flower but Japanese
decorum dictates he has to be present and be greeting
the attending guests as after all he is an oyakata
with the heya.  Unless of course he is thinking of
jumping to K-1 or Prime.

But it's hard to believe they are having so much
trouble getting along now as I remember when
Takanohana was recovering from his injury, Akinoshima
was just about the only sekitori who stuck around to
have training bouts with him.  

They literally grew up together as Akionshima was one
time going to school, living at Futagoyama Beya. 
Perhaps Futagoyama oyakata can get the two together to
have a good talk...
