[sumo] My adopted Onishi

My adopted Onishi finished with a fine 6-1 record at Jonidan 23 east.

He only lost to Asahimaru who is also a former amateur Yokozuna. (Due to a couple of injuries Asahimaru fell down the banzuke so far.)

The bout between Onishi and Asahimaru was amazing. More like the bouts you can see in Makushita than Jonidan. You could see that these two young men are way to low in the Banzuke and they will climb up (back) the Banzuke in big steps.

At the beginning it was Onishiâs fight. He slapped Asahimaru to the edge of the dohyo and nearly had him out of the dohyo. But then one hand from Onishi missed his goal and that was the chance that Asahimaru was waiting for. Asahimaru fought back, pushed Onishi to the other side of the dohyo and won with yoritaoshi.

Asahimaru said after the bout that he was really nervous before the fight and that Onishiâs tsuppari are very strong and that they really hurt.

Onishi was not happy that he lost, but he lost to the Yusho winner and this is nothing to be ashamed of.

Onishi is back in training and he is doing his best in keiko to do even better in Nagoya.

My force is with him (and some others).
