[sumo] Summer Jyungyo Report - July 30
The Ozumo Summer Jyungyo Tour started at Nakashibetsu
Town (near Kushiro) in Hokkaido on July 30. Yokozuna
Asashoryu won all of his 11 training matches against
Miyabiyama, Kakizoe and others.
He also had a training session against Juryo Kotooshu.
"The younger guys aren't showing fighting spirits. I
am consciously trying to pull them up," said Asashoryu
showing he was ready to play the role of tough drill
sergent.
On another front, Asashoryu has set up a foundation to
assist the youth in Mongolia to get sports training
abroad. He will be supporting them play baseball at
high schools in Japan and soccer in Brazil.
