I never had the pleasure of meeting Larry in person, but when I joined
the ML about five years ago, he was the first to respond to my request
for tapes of the basho to share.  Thanks to him I was able to see the
full NHK coverage for the first time, and I've been hooked ever since.

Other folks (thanks, Patt!) have also very kindly helped feed my
addiction over the years, and since I got a dish of my own, I've been
able to "pay it forward" by sharing my tapes with others.  But much
credit must go to Larry for getting me started.

Rest in peace, Sokitumi!
