Sounds to me like they are asking "should a sumo-like society be
allowed to exist", not "should society be run like a sumo stable".

When this issue first came up, I argued in favor of ending the ban.
I've since changed my mind.  I think this particular tradition, with its
ancient roots, should be preserved.  It doesn't really harm anyone to
continue it.  Organizations that are for men only should be allowed to
exist, just as similar organizations for women should be allowed.  The
sumo world is primarily male, always has been, and that should
continue.
