[sumo] Hnery Miller [Sentoryu] in Pride Fighting

Not sure if anyone is interested in this or not, but I know there are some
who were Sentoryu fans.

Mike Coughlin looks at the Pride Grand Prix tournament first round

This Sunday, Pride FC presents the opening round of the 16 man 2004
heavyweight Grand Prix. The 2000 open weight Grand Prix was one of MMA's
greatest shows and last years MW Grand Prix was even better. This year's
first round is a mixed bag, with some very interesting matchups and some
fights which should be entertaining freak shows and nothing more. I usually
like to take a look at the betting lines on fights, but thegreek.com doesn't
have odds up as of this writing. (04/20/04) This infuriates me to no end,
because if the internet boards are any indication, Mark Coleman could put me
and my (future) kids through college! Oh well, I never actually pick fights
anymore, but I'm pretty confident this time around.

Fight 6: Giant Silva vs. Sentoryu (sumo wrestler Henry Miller)

This is the dumbest match on a Pride card in some time, and sadly, that's
saying something. In the most perverse way possible, I'm DYING to see this
fight. It will be the very definition of "freak show" and it could end up as
the highest rated segment of the night. Silva is not a fighter and Miller is
a past his prime sumo, but it's not like sumo has ever shown any
effectiveness inside MMA. This is just a really tall dude with no skill
fighting a really fat dude with no skill.

When he fought Herring on the New Year's Eve show, Silva showed some agility
and really remarkable cardio for a guy his size. He didn't show any real
skill though, as his punches looked like something a caveman would throw. In
fact, that's the perfect way to describe Giant Silva: he fights like a
confused caveman. I don't know what Miller has, but I'm pretty sure he can't
strike. He should be able to push Silva around for the first few minutes,
maybe even take him down. What he can do from there is anyone's guess. A
total toss up.

Winner: Silva, after Miller gasses out, via KO at the end of the 1st or the
beginning of the 2nd round.
