I thought this was well understood by now. Channel 4  gave up their 
segmented coverage of the Aki basho (not aired until the following January 
and February),  as soon as NHK started live coverage of every day. In any 
case, the knowledgeable Lyall Watson dropped out after two years, and they 
replaced him with a popular character actor.
