Re: [sumo] oshi-dashi'd message (Channel 4)

I've just returned to the UK after living for many years in the Far East.
I was disappointed to see that the UK Channel 4 no longer broadcasts Sumo
as they used to. There only seems to be intermittent, very poor, coverage
by British Eurosport.

Whatever happened to the Channel 4 coverage? Surely Sumo didn't lose
popularity in the UK?

I thought this was well understood by now. Channel 4 gave up their segmented coverage of the Aki basho (not aired until the following January and February), as soon as NHK started live coverage of every day. In any case, the knowledgeable Lyall Watson dropped out after two years, and they replaced him with a popular character actor.
