[sumo] (Sumo Games) FINAL- RotoSumo Standings (Wins/Losses included)
Congratulations to Asashoryu for his second consecutive Zensho-Yusho. It's
been quite a while since we had back-to-back zensho. Let's see how things
shaped up in the fantasy world of RotoSumo...
MAKUUCHI:
Flohru overcame a sub-par performance on the final three days of the
tournament to capture the top division Yusho. He barely outlasted hard
charging Yubiquitoyama, who tied Manekineko's 3 basho old record for most
points in a single day, notching 157 on Senshuraku.
Of the Ozeki, Kadoban Ookihito and Hamanoyama both managed to save their
ranks. Ookihito got a respectable 9-6, while Hamanoyama just barely slipped
by with an 8-7. Fellow Kadoban Kintamayama fell hard with a 3-12 record and
will be a Sekiwake next basho. Non-Kadoban Maguroyama managed a 9-6, while
fomer Ozeki Furanohana fell one win (9 points) short of the 10 wins he
needed for re-promotion.
Sekiwake Heikotoriki is set up nicely for a possible Ozeki promotion next
basho. With an 10-5 in Hatsu and an 11-4 this basho, another 11 wins could
do the trick next tournament.
There were far more KK then MK in the top division (due mostly to several
particularly poor performances). This means that banzuke making is going to
be a bit difficult.

JURYO:
Hakajusakari (the former Bench Sumo Ozeki) edges Hakusan to take the Juryo
Yusho. This division has the same problem as Makuuchi in that there are many
more KK then MK. Heitaikai, Zenjimoto, Tominishiki and Oshiyama all appear
to have lost their Sekitori status, while Tomitsuki and Mattjila are both in
danger in spite of their high ranks.

MAKUSHITA:
For only the second time in the History of the game we have a tie. The
playoff rules call for ties to be broken by the rikishi with the most days
scoring above the average for his/her division. In this case, both Konizan
and Toljokinodo have 10 days with above average scores. The second
tiebreaker is most days scoring 100 points or more. This provides us with a
winner as Konizan had 8 100+ days while Toljokinodo had just 7. So
congratulations to Konizan, who also has earned a trip to Juryo.
This is also Konizan's 6th straight KK dating back to the start of his
career in Natsu 2003. A future Ozeki? We shall see...

JONOKUCHI:
Mikola and Mishu scored below average on the final day, allowing Misisko to
blow past them and secure a 12-3 Yusho.
Congrats to the Roto-newbie for this achievement. Also congrats to Keikan
Yaseppochi for his/her first ever KK and first promotion out of Jonokuchi!
Great job!
There are enough MK and enough rikishi coming down from above that I should,
once again, be able to promote everyone with a KK to Makushita.
