After a nice 3-0 start over the first 5 days, Kirimaru only managed to
pick up one additional win for another near 50/50 split which seems to
be pretty common for him right now.  At least he secured kachi koshi;
he hasn't had one since Hatsu 2003 (but went 3-1-3 in Kyushu 2003).
Looking at previous records, it seems that he'll probably be in Jonidan
next basho. Hopefully he can make a good showing there. A bit of an
aside, but he didn't drop as much as I expected from last basho to this
one. The 2-5 at Jk12e only dropped him to Jk15e. It seems to be harder
to predict changes in the lower ranks.
