If he does go to amateur sumo, it will certainly be to coach not fight.  If
he does do this it will be great for the American team.  There are already
some great guys doing sumo in Hawaii and this would consolidate them into an
unstoppable unit.

He said that to me too, but he was referring to having to move out of his
room at the heya and into his own apartment, not getting his walking papers
from the Oyakata job.

I wouldn't imagine he is planning to change to the coaching job in the near
future, but with the way things are going in sumo these days, anything could
and does happen.  Who'd have believed Akebono would go to K1?
