Well... if I'm not very much mistaken, Musashimaru has won more Yushos
than Akebono. So at least an explanation will be necessary why Akebono
is better anyway. :-)
One might argue of course that it is because Akebono had Takanohana
as an opponent for most of his best years and would otherwise have taken
more Yushos. But then again, this argument might be risky for Akebono
fans since it somehow implies that Takanohana was better than Akebono...
So, it would be interesting to see someone arguing that Bono was better
than Maru and at least equal to Taka.
And some years from now why might start to discuss where Asashoryu
fits in.
To be provocative, for the moment I'd rank the four like this:
1. Takanohana
2. Asashoryu
3. Akebono
4. Musashimaru
Though Asa's position of course may change; so far I'm just judging
what he has achieved till now as compared to his age.
