[sumo] [spoiler]Musouyama
Musouyama is doing his best to be ready for Kyushu. He knows it's all up
to him now, being kadoban for the third time in a short while. Left
elbow injury. He entered the jungyo matches from the 11th, and did
general keiko from the sixteenth. He has been diagnosed with a one
centimeter crack in his shoulder bone and has it all taped up during
keiko. He's been doing ten bouts a day, and is able to push and hold a
mawashi. "I've been coming along quite well, but some pain is still
there. What worries and frightens me more than the pain, is what will
happen when I make a sudden movement in response to an attack, " he
said. Coming from Musouyama, who usually "hides" his injuries, this kind
of talk is surprising. "The truth is, it's best to be completely cured
before I step back in to the dohyo, but time is running out. I have no
choice but to " juggle " my way through", he said. Being over thirty,
his injuries are taking slower to heal. He was nicknamed "The Monster of
Heisei" and was quick to climb the ranks. Now, it's been ten years since
he entered Makuuchi, about the time when spirit and body start getting
eroded in the Sumo world- the ten year veteran is surely approaching his
turning point.
