There is indeed such a thing;  it's newsgroup-speak for what in mail
programs would normally be called a (set of) filter rule(s).  In either
case, one configures the program to (say, hypothetically) delete a whole
thread, delete all postings from some Contentious Individual(TM),
messages with TOO MUCH ALL-CAPS 'SHOUTING', etc.  Details vary
considerably, however, depending on which mail program or newreader
you're using.

Hope that's of some help.  Those hoping for cyber-assassination may, I
suppose, be disappointed.
