Re: [sumo] more on the 1-day Nagoya tournament

Asashoryu did enough to win.Apart from Asasekiryu and Kotomitstuki he wasn`t pushed to hard so he didn`t need to pull out the last ditch effort at the edge were he is most likely to get an injury.

I don`t think there is any doubt that a lot of the sekitori don`t want to risk injury but I don`t think there is any doubt that a lot of the sekitori want to win the US$45k either.I know many of them stand to loose more if badly injured but thats a goodsom sum of pocket money.

Stephan,
Take it easy tiger.
You`ll be right.
I think it is highly likely that you get more enjoyment out of sumo than anybody else.
I`m not having a go at you,I believe it.
All the best.

Thanks Quinlan, for an honest post.

I've been to JUNGYO where KONISHKI spat water at the referees.

He then carried a (mock)-terrified GYOJI out of the ring and dumped him into
a SHIMPAN'S lap.

Other RIKISHI boxed, pulled hair and made various hilarious gestures.

The crowd ate it up.

SUMO fans want to be entertained.

SUMO is a picnic and brawl rolled into one.

If any of you are against entertainment you are against SUMO.
