Nobody knows how great some makushita hopes like Hagiwara (17 years old) can
be. But, I think it would take at least 5 years for them to get something
close to Asashoryu's level if this ever happens !!

But, honestly, I still think that Kotomitsuki is not dead and can be a REAL
threat for Asashoryu, in case he doesn't get seriously injured again.

Anyway, without any major injury, it will be a surprise for me if Asashoryu
doesn't grab 20 or more yushos at the end of his promising career.
