[sumo] Drug tests postponed
The tests for drugs which were suggested lately and agreed upon in
principal have been postponed indefinitely. The system was supposed to
be implemented this month, but it won't be.
Due to the increasing number of kyujos, there had been many calls to
introduce drug tests. The subject was being explored since January. The
Committee for Medical Affairs had convened to discuss how to do it.
The proposed time to do it was during the rikishi's August check-ups.
But, it seems that the cost would be millions of yen, and there would be
the need to come up with new rules and penalties regarding people who
were caught using drugs. So, it's postponed indefinitely.
"After consulting with the Medical Affairs Committee, we have reached
the concusion that we will not be ready for this at this juncture. All
heyas agree that this is a pressing and urgent matter, but it will be
brought up again when the Medical Committee will find a need.", said
Rijicho, showing that the Kyokai is still anti-drug.

Matsugane beya has three sekitori, all in Juryo- Wakakosho, Nakao amd
Harunoyama (affectionately known as "The Plump Squad"). Oyakata took
the heya for three days of unique training- no mawashi-everyone in tees.
Keiko of the mind. They did breathing techniques and stuff.

Looks like Wakakosho in the pic, but I may be wrong..
BTW, Wakakosho has his own homepage- It's in Japanese, but has great
stuff, like the fact that he wanted to be a pilot when he was small..
When asked what is the one thing he would like to say to his fans, he
replied: "Is it a sin to be this handsome??"
