Sumo tour to S Korea rescheduled for next Feb.

TOKYO ? The Japan Sumo Association (JSA) said Thursday it will stage its 
first-ever tour to South Korea next February now that the spread of the 
deadly SARS virus has been declared over.

While the tour, involving 115 makuuchi-division wrestlers, sumo elders and 
officials, had initially been planned for June 14 and 15 in Seoul, the JSA 
canceled it in April as the number of people infected with severe acute 
respiratory syndrome and deaths caused by the virus, particularly in Asia, 
were rising at that time. (Kyodo News)
