Coming out of very deep lurk mode...

I have to agree with Joe on this one. The sooner everyone stops
picking at the proverbial scab, the sooner this wound is going
to heal.

I think it would probably be best for all involved if the
Asashoryu and Kyokushuzan can put on a veneer of civility in
public. Whatever lies beneath the surface is none of anyone
else's business...and there is no reason anyone should insist on
bearing witness to some mawkish bonding between the two of them.

All of this is little more than two alpha males jockeying for
position at the top of the heap. The problem being that
Kyokushuzan's position at the top of the Mongolian rikishi heap
is being threatened by the younger Asashoryu, who has made it to
the top of the much bigger Ozumo heap...The entire clash was at
some levels quite predictable. The only surprising thing is that
is has become this public...
