NEWS FLASH

There are fake tegata. There have been some sekitori in the recent past who
have had their  own Tsukebito (deshi) make the handstamps for them, and even
sign their name for them.  I would doubt if the less valauble printed ones,
sold through the Kokugikan biten would carry those, but one has to be
careful, like with anything else. I have a huge collection of tegata dating
back to the early 70's, and have passed them by someone who knows, for
authentication. I want to sell these and would not want to pass on a fake.
Most of the ones I have are ones that I saw the Sekitori make himself, so
that is safe. These days I think that there is enough trouble around , and
no one would support this obviously devious practice.
